Watercolor (US) or watercolour (UK), also aquarelle from French, is a painting method. A watercolour is the medium or the resulting artwork, in which the paints are made of pigments suspended in a water soluble vehicle. Although watercolour painting is extremely old, its continuous history as an art medium begins in the Renaissance period and is still very much enjoyed today.
